The cold is COMING our city’s homeless are not prepared.

Imagine waking up this morning after a cold and rainy night spent outside with a low of 47 degrees. This is the harsh reality for many in our homeless population, and it is only November.
There is a simple way to provide the most basic of needs to the homeless in our city:
  1. Run to your nearby store and grab a few packs of adult AND child/youth- sized socks and underwear, TODAY.
  2. Next, deliver them to SAMM (address and hours below) OR to your local clothing closet, food pantry or congregation. Be sure to tag your donations with #compassionSA (with sharpie or a sticker!)
  3. Better yet?  Host a sock and underwear drive at your congregation or organization.

Did we mention that this is a GREAT way to involve children of all ages?

Here is a printable download to pass out and/or insert in communications within our congregations or organizations highlighting the Top 8 Facts about Socks, the Cold and Homelessness.
