“Active Nonviolence: A Paradigm Shift to a More Peaceful World”

Marie Dennis, one of the primary organizers of the Conference on Nonviolence and Just Peace at the Vatican will share on the Catholic Church re-committing to the centrality of gospel nonviolence. https://nonviolencejustpeace.net/ She is co-president of Pax Christi International. Choosing Peace: The Catholic Church Returns to Gospel Nonviolence and other books she has edited will be available. 6 pm – Exhibit of student art, writing, and film and reception. 7 pm Lecture “Active Nonviolence” by Maria Dennis with opening prayer by Sr. Jane Ann Slater, CDP, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. 8 pm Awards to student winners presented by Sr. Tere Maya, CCVI, international leader of the Incarnate Word Sisters. IW institutions in Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Peru, and the US will be united watching English and Spanish live-streaming of the presentation at UIW.
