Hard Won – Not Done: A Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

August 26, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

To receive a link to the celebration, please RSVP by August 20 at https://lwvsa.org/hard-won-not-done/ or to hardwonnotdone.lwvsa@gmail.com.

The League of Women Voters of the San Antonio Area and Can We Talk? invite you to this virtual celebration to honor the hard work, courage, and perseverance of women —over the course of three centuries, from the 1800s to the present—who inspire us to continue working to make democracy not just aspirational, but reality for all.

GUEST OF HONOR: Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Civic Engagement at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin (https://lbj.utexas.edu/soto-victoria-m-defrancesco).

DISCUSSION MODERATOR: Erika Prosper Nirenberg, First Lady of San Antonio and Co-founder of the Latina Leadership Institute

SPECIAL GUEST: Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson, Poet Laureate of San Antonio (https://andreavocabsanderson.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Vocab-bio-resume-website.pdf).

Join us on August 26 at 7:00pm to honor the past and recognize the work still to be done. There is no charge for this celebration, but donations to help the League make democracy work for all are appreciated (https://lwvsa.org/donation-form/).
