Propaganda: The Dangers of Dehumanization @SoL Center

Join Dr. Westermann in an exploration of past and current deployments of propaganda, what it feeds on, and what it fuels. The conversation will also look into the dangers of dehumanization as political rhetoric, with examples from Nazi Germany and implications for our own times.

Edward B. Westermann, Ph.D., is Professor of History at Texas A&M University at San Antonio. He received his Ph.D. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His most recent book is Hitler’s Ostkrieg and the Indian Wars: Comparing Genocide and Conquest (2016). Dr. Westermann has published extensively in the areas of Holocaust and military history, and he is the recipient of numerous research grants and fellowships, including a Fulbright. His current project examines the role of alcohol in the conduct of violence and in the perpetration of Atrocities.
