Race Relations in San Antonio Virtual Town Hall

June 6, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

It’s important to stand up in the face of injustice and inhumane treatment. The killing of George Floyd is a miscarriage of justice. It is the role of elected officials and policymakers to listen to the demands of the community, to educate ourselves, and to pull from every lever to affect change. While fellow San Antonians continue to raise their voices and practice their right to protest, please be vigilant of bad actors who may seek to take advantage of peaceful protests to cause harm. If you plan on participating, I encourage everyone to do so with peace, purpose, and safety in mind.

As I resume the work as Chair of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee, I look forward to advocating for the safety of our community and pushing for changes at the local and state level.

In light of recent events, I will be hosting a virtual town hall event to share community insights from academic experts and community advocates. Join us this Saturday, June 6th, from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. for an illuminating conversation.
