The 50th Anniversary of “Hunger In America” 1968 CBS Documentary Screening

FreeJoin The People’s Nite Market for the Screening of:“Hunger In America” a 1968 CBS documentary, winner of the Peabody Award, filmed 50 years ago during the Worlds Fair. Spotlighting Hunger and Poverty in San Antonio.
We will have a discussion at the end of the screening with community Food Activists to talk about where we are 50 years later.
Panelists:
Rosie Castro-is known as a political and civil rights activist, an educator, a mentor and community servant.
Diego Bernal- Texas State Representative, who changed the law that public schools could donate leftover food to non-profits, instead they are allowed to keep to send students home with food if they are lacking food in their households.
