The Healing Power of Music Symposium

The Theta Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota fraternity will be hosting the first of its kind symposium on the UTSA campus.
The symposium explores the many ways that high school and university students, teachers, medical volunteers and others can get involved with programs that advocate for music as a healing force for various communities such as cancer patients ad Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
- Dr. Tracy Cowden – “Music as Medicine: The Power and Influence of Music on our Health”
- Monty Draney – “Music and Memory and Positive Approach to Care”
- Constanza Roeder – “Why Our Hearts Need Art: Creative Support for Adults with Cancer”
- Dr. Carole White – “The Power of Music for Families Living with Dementia”
