Opening Reception: The Status of Women in San Antonio Art Exhibit

The Culture Commons Gallery reopens March 22nd with The Status of Women in San Antonio exhibit featuring women artists. Join us the Opening Reception on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 6 – 9 pm which is free and open to the public! This collaborative effort between the Department of Arts in Culture and the Metropolitan Health Department will showcase art by 15 local artisans.

Artworks by: Kat Cadena, Kallie Cheves, Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Jenelle Esparza, Audrya Flores, Sarah Fox, Adriana M. Garcia, Megan Harrison, Ana Hernandez, Mari Hernandez, Carmen Johnson Alexander, Laura Mijangos-Rapp, Rhys Munro, Karen Robinson and Hiromi Stringer.

This exhibit was a collaborative effort between the Department of Arts & Culture and the Metropolitan Health Department‘s Violence Prevention Program to highlight the report findings and celebrate women artists.

Artwork examines issues ranging from domestic violence to equal pay to reminding women to reminding women to take time for themselves. Mediums include paintings, photographic constructions, multi-media and fiber art.
